I've just found out that 'Prove A Villain' got an Honourable Mention in The Rainbow Awards 2011. It really cheered my day up - even a month or so later! Obviously my Google alerts aren't working!

Real life seems to have thrown out some insurmountable problems just lately, and I swear that the days are getting shorter, so there's less time to deal with them. There's a review of Prove A Villain on Lambda Literary  . You have to scroll about half way down to get to it. The reviewer understands the Shakespeare references, which is pleasing, though I'm slightly worried that he thinks it's 1591 when I thought it was 1592. I was most amused to see 'Prove A Villain' for sale on an Indian website, and under 'Purchase Similar Books' the suggestions were On the Geometry of Diffusion Operators and Stochastic Flows, Failsafe Control Systems: Applications and Emergency Management, and Microbial Responses to Light and Time. The poor chap probably wishes he wasn't named K.

I don't have a problem with e-books - in fact, most of my m/m reading is in this form - but there's something very satisfying about holding in your hand a print version of your own novel. 'Prove A Villain' is so nice to look at anyway, with the little daggers as page breaks and the lovely fonts in the headers. I read all through the print version ( Read more... )

The edits are now done for 'Prove A Villain' so it's ready to go. I have to admit I'm quite nervous about this book. Hopefully I now have some cover art for 'Prove a Villain'! The talented Alex Beecroft has come up with exactly the right image and produced a stunning cover. I've just sent the revised manuscript of 'Prove A Villain' off to Cheyenne, and am now waiting for the editing process to begin. In total, I've cut about 18,000 words out of this since I 'finished' it (ha!) and it has not been easy. Cutting is much more difficult than adding, in my opinion.
